DREAM Summer School: The latest 3D printing trends in Maranello from 3rd to 7th June 2019

DREAM project, funded by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 Factories of the Future initiative, organizes a Summer School in the Motor Valley between Modena and Maranello from 3rd to 7th June 2019 entitled “Metal Additive manufacturing for real industrial applications: from the lab to the product“. The school is aimed at researchers, scientists and professionals interested in the latest additive manufacturing and 3D printing trends. Until April 21st it is possible to take advantage of the reduced rate of 870 euros by registering on the school’s web page: http://www.dream-euproject.eu/summer-school

DREAM Summer School aims to show how important international companies use the additive manufacturing technique for the realization of some of their products, guaranteeing optimized performances with respect to normal standards. Participants will then have the opportunity to visit the Ferrari Museum in Maranello and the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena to better understand how to use the additive metal printing technology in the automotive sector; they will also visit the laboratories of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia to see the researchers at work. Moreover, it will be possible to visit the headquarters of R.B. in Mirandola, a company specialized in the design, research and development and manufacture of high precision molds. In addition to the research activity and the results obtained from the DREAM project, ample space will also be dedicated to the presentation of the work carried out by other funded projects in the field of additive manufacturing in the European Research Framework Programme Horizon 2020, with the sponsorship of the Common Dissemination Booster of the European Commission. The Summer School also aims to discuss what are the future trends of the Additive Manufacturing for its widespread adoption in the industrial sector, and also to think about where funding should be allocated in the next decade.

“Not only frontal lessons but also a lot of practice” – explains Isella Vicini, CEO of beWarrant S.L. and organizer of the Summer School – “The school’s program was designed to give participants practical knowledge and show how the laboratory results can also be used by large companies in the production of excellency products.”
The school accepts a maximum of 35 participants. The registration fee, which after the 21st April will be 980 euros, includes: transfer from Bologna airport, accommodation for 4 nights in full board at the Maranello Village, teaching material, free wi-fi, guided tours and Gala Dinner.

THE DREAM PROJECT
DREAM (acronym of Driving up Reliability and Efficiency of Additive Manufacturing) is a project funded under the Horizon 2020 Factories of the Future initiative with a contribution from the European Commission of 3.242.435,00 euros. Launched in October 2016, the project lasts 3 years and counts 9 partners from 6 different European countries. The project objective is the optimization of the laser-based additive manufacturing technique through the control of all phases of the process chain. Among the numerous industrial applications, the project focuses on components for prosthetic, automotive and molding applications. Discover more about DREAM HERE
